Brothers Four CDs CDs
In The Name Of Brotherhood (1992)
Bob Flick found a treasure in a
hidden cave (just kidding) - the last of a
special Limited
Edition:
A live
concert recording
that has never been marketed or released
anywhere else, other than a limited private
distribution in Japan.
The recording
represents their appearance at the
inaugural gathering of the Japan-
America Society *.
The Brothers Four were invited to
participate and present a concert at the
first-ever Summit in Kyoto, 1991; the
concert featured a guest-performance on a
couple of songs by a children's choir via
live satellite hook-up from their Seattle
stage.
"The CD is titled after the theme song we
wrote for the event, In The Name of
Brotherhood ,
a salute to the tale of one of the very
first ever citizens of Japan to have seen
America as a young man.
A young man who was stranded at sea,
rescued by an American whaling ship and
taken to Boston where he
came of age. He then returned to his
native land with news and drawings and
tales of America.
Actually a really cool saga." -- BF
*The Japan-America Grassroots Summit is
an annual large-scale meeting of Japanese
and American citizens,
held alternately
in Japan and America. The summit aims to
strengthen the peaceful relationship
between Japan
and America by
fostering grassroots friendships. The
first Summit was held in 1991 in Tokyo &
Kyoto, Japan.

Merry Christmas LP (1966 Columbia)
The classic Christmas album, released
on LP in 1966. 12 tracks with one 3-song
medley.
The song, "I'll Be Home For
Christmas" peaked at #26 on The Billboard
Hot
100 chart in 1966.
Deemed by Brothers Four leader Bob Flick himself as one of his favorite recordings released by the long-lived folk group, 1966’s “Merry Christmas” brought together a truly extraordinary collection of talent. Besides the Brothers themselves, one of the top groups of the folk era, the album featured vocal arrangements by the legendary Milt Okun, who had worked with such giants as Harry Belafonte, Miriam Makeba and Peter, Paul and Mary. Orchestrations were provided by Peter Matz, fresh from his award-winning work with Barbra Streisand, and behind the board at Columbia Records hallowed 30th Street Studio was legendary engineer Frank Laico. And weaving it all together was the great producer Teo Macero, best known for his work with Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck and Tony Bennett! Little wonder, then, that “Merry Christmas” is acknowledged as a pop-folk classic.
These records are new and sealed! Bob Flick recently found them in storage when he was reorganizing his stock. The quantity is very limited. This is a real collector's item. If you are a collector of old vinyl records, or simply enjoy the better sound of analog recordings, you will want this record in your collection.
Note that we also have both the recent reissue CD "Expanded Edition" and the Sony CD from 1997 available in the CD section above .
