The famed rose and rock gardens at Yaddo, first designed in 1899 as a gift to Katrina Trask, had fallen into disrepair over the years. In 1991, Jane Wait brought together interested members of the Saratoga Community to form The Yaddo Garden Association with the purpose of restoring and maintaining the gardens at Yaddo for the enjoyment of the public. Over the past twenty five years, the gardens have been gradually restored by the all-volunteer organization.
