Offbeat Folk Songs

Riverside, 1956

Riverside Records had been primarily a jazz label but in 1956 they revised their line-up to feature a young Bob Gibson on his first recording. This was an all banjo record on which he performed many of the Calypso songs and humorous novelty tunes he had collected in his travels. There are also two banjo instrumentals, including a Flamenco number, Andalucian Dance, which he performed to win the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout Show.
