Carnegie ConcertRiverside, 1957 |
Before turning professional, Bob traveled extensively amassing a very comprehensive collection of Calypso and gospel songs, many of which he performs here in front of a live audience at New York’s Carnegie Recital Hall. This 1957 recording is a prime example of Bob’s innate ability to teach an audience new songs and have them instantly singing along. The album contains the introduction of several tunes which went on to become folk standards — Michael, Row the Boat Ashore, Day-O and John Riley, to name three.
